Honest Self Assessment

Honest self assessment

By- Sandeep Kumar Srivastava

After attaining a certain age every person seeks employ-ment and he cannot wait for an infinite time. If he does not get job, naturally despondency or disappointment sprouts. There is constant increase in the number or idle people. It would not be wholly improper to say that the prevailing reason for this malaise is that the life of most of us is one of the unfulfilled desires. It is also not irrelevant to consider the fact here that those who cherish an unattainable aim invite dejection, lose confidence, suffer from a sense of frustration and thereby develop inferiority complex. Hardly a day passes when we do not read in the newspaper or hear in neighboring locality people committing suicide owing to unemployment and subsequent depression.

The present state of affair is that after graduation majority of students aim is first to appear in provincial or civil services examinations. It is definitely advisable always to aim high, and accordingly we must prepare & struggle to reach the aim. If we have made a determination as well as made complete & ‘honest preparation then nothing can stop to reach the aim.

It is sorry to mention here that the plight of those is not hidden, who knowingly or unknowingly fall a victim to alcohol and drug addiction and ultimately lead a life of sheer depression and despair due to failure in higher attainment and so some are involved in criminal, unethical, unlawful and unsocial activities.

But if unfortunately after several attempts, we are unable to compare higher examination we should better at times assess ourselves honestly. If even after the assessment our conscience allows us to struggle then we should surely jump into the uphill task and must fight with heart and soul for nothing is impossible in the world. Deserving persons pierce the target; otherwise incessant try without any zeal is merely wastage of time, money and energy. Therefore, considering pros & cons, it is sensible to pick other job, profession or trade according to our aptitude, ability and capacity before we become victim of frustration, inferiority complex and disappointment and cross the age-bar making ourselves illegible for other professions and it becomes late for other available jobs.

Today it is bitter truth-not to speak of higher education even after simple graduation we feel shy in doing hard work, and shun creative efforts. We not only ignore rather contempt’s or lowers the dignity of hard work.. we only dream of getting employment in government or reputed private sectors and hold lucrative and powerful posts, without doing any hard work which is a prerequisite for achieving our aim.

It is disgraceful to say that even of corruption has spread into almost every sphere of life and profession. Due to this many deserving persons are being deprived of their target and due right which imbibe desperation and despair among them.

To understand the greatness of life we must first know the sanctity and importance of human life. How mysterious, wonderful, beautiful and fascinating is the supreme creation of God! So what is the sense in destroying this gift?

There are lots of professions, trades and occupations, but we run after the while collar for jobs even in this scuffle for employment and tough competitions. In every profession we can get success. If we stick to fair and square dealing, hard, and have patience and self-control. Self-control built on the pillars of discipline patience will help to strengthen the will power. A great-saint in Dhampada says “Patience is the austerity supreme because patience leads to attainment of illumination.” A women’s strength is in her tongue in his patience and self-control.

It goes without saying that there is no royal road to success just as no one can think manual activities or manual work without thinking of thumb of our hand similarly success can not be achieved, without adversity, pains, hard-work and sacrifice. So man should not be disappointed if obstacles come in battalion in the way no job but he should proceed by degrees keeping in mind “Rome was not built in a day” and of course after a storm, comes calm. Therefore he should not give up his idea in any circumstances to grasp his target being harassed of seeing odd situations. He must try again and again to read his destination – when one shuts another opens and honestly working and sacrifice to lose. A successful man is one who lay a firm foundation set the bricks that other those at him.

As aspirants and parents concerned should realize and consider seriously over the aforesaid terrible situation prevailing in the society and find out better solution and to live a happy, successful and prosperous life.
